The popular sport of pickleball can now be played in Udny Green thanks to generous funding from Udny Community Trust Ltd for the installation of a court and purchase of a net, bats and balls.
The court resembles a badminton court, allowing both games to be played on it, but the key difference is the pickleball No Volley Zone or “kitchen line”.
A group of local enthusiasts is now trying to establish a regular pickleball session on Thursday evenings and to then form a club – check local social media pages for updates – but anyone wishing to play pickleball or badminton on a “pay and play” basis, outwith Thursday evenings, can now do so, subject to availability, by getting in touch via our enquiry form.
At the time of writing, there is generally good availability during the day from Monday to Friday and at weekends.The cost is £5 per head, up to four players.
